Patter Places — Massé, a Refined Parisian Hotel with a Sense of Ease

Founders (and siblings) Corto and Eole Peyron collaborated with their friends to realise their vision for Massé — creating a distinctive setting with a welcoming touch.
Located in SoPi (South of Pigalle) in the 9th arrondissement, the hotel is a 10-minute taxi ride, 15-minute Metro journey, or 30-minute walk from Gare du Nord. The neighbourhood is energised by a creative crowd and a notable food scene. Corto and Eole drew upon their family heritage to anchor the concept of Massé, interweaving the essence of the Mediterranean, with a spirit of adventure and travel: “We wanted to create a hotel that truly reflects us — a place for encounters. We were inspired by our grandfather’s motto: ‘Make a friend a day’.”

The building was renovated by Studio Olivier Guyot, and the interior architecture by Parisian practice Gasparetto Parenti, “Every detail was chosen with care, every room is different, and many of the objects were sourced and collected over time. We wanted guests to feel a bit like they’re staying in someone’s home — but with small twists and unexpected details, so they leave with memories.” explains Eole and Corto Peyron.

On the ground floor, a warm reception room uses recycled stools from the design duo Clueless. Adjoining, there is space to work remotely, enjoy breakfast, or head to the gym. The 40 rooms are spread between the ground and 6th floor, each one united by an appreciation of light, clean materials, and calm, minimal spaces.
The friends that helped design the space are worth noting in their own right. Staff uniforms are designed by Studio de Lostanges, rugs by textile designer Thomas Coccimiglio of Les Editions de Tapis, soaps from Marseille-based Foufour, toiletries from Typology, pastries from Pain Retrouvé, chocolates from Plaq, artwork by Sophie Estève and Eduardo Lalanne, and a series of large canvases by Christian Rosa.

Opening in spring, Massé’s bar restaurant Trente Paris will sit next door to the hotel. Available for drinks and small plates 5 days a week, from 5pm to 2am, with an upstairs space for private events.
