In Brussels, furniture designer Marina Bautier opens two holiday apartments above her store and café — providing the comforts of home, with the ease of a guesthouse.

Marina’s furniture is grounded by her philosophy for simplicity, comfort and authenticity — values that are applied throughout her entire process from suppliers, and manufacturing to craftsmanship. Her daybeds are a Patter favourite — exquisitely simple and elegantly proportioned to stand the test of time. Marina’s trained eye for uncluttered warmth and her sensibility in arranging space are the charm and unique appeal of Bautier Apartments.

Modern living is considered, as guests can use the space to relax, work, cook or unwind on the terrace and rooftop garden (designed by Bart & Pieter). Pantry essentials are provided, eliminating the task of buying seasoning or condiments. Thoughtful extras are on offer, such as morning breakfast baskets fresh from the downstairs café. You’ll sleep on the highest quality Belgian bed linen, and bathe with natural bathroom products, surrounded by serene unglazed green tiles.

The neighbourhood of Forest, is in the south of Brussels and within walking distance of Midi station. Local parks, art institutions, cafés and restaurants surround the apartment — balancing a sense of local calm with close proximity to the city.

To note: the apartments are on the second floor and there is no elevator. There is a minimum two-night night stay and prices start at £157 per night.
