Label to Love — Acne Studios Blå Konst
Wardrobe pieces that celebrate the everyday take inspiration from Mexican artist Gabriel Kuri – adding some playfulness to purpose.
Unlike classic runway collections, Acne Studios Blå Konst drops into store in regular hits throughout the season, reflecting a sense of permanence and practicality. As well as a seasonal artist collaboration, the denim range focuses on jeans and jackets, easy jersey, functional bags and bucket hats – ticking off our desired wardrobe toolkit for the summer.
This season, artist Kuri’s interest in everyday items and materials is celebrated – particularly how he uses them in contrast. His fascination with fleeting objects, like receipts and pieces of chewing gum, can be seen throughout, adding exciting new interest to the collection’s signature utilitarian cuts through print and fabrication.
The pieces juxtapose each other; denim is either purist indigo or appears heavily overdyed and stonewashed, workwear jackets sit against synthetic shirts and dresses, and silhouettes are designed to sit away from the body – slouched but belted high.
In addition to the collection itself, a series of ten unique artworks created by Kuri are on display in selected Acne Studios stores this summer.
