Our monthly list is designed to inspire and nurture at the moment you might need it. To begin the year we highlight a lively London trattoria, stackable storage and second hand denim from Paris.

— A rich eye cream to nurture delicate skin during colder months, Susanne Kaufman’s Eye Cream (Line T) uses sage, St. John’s Wort blossom, yarrow leaf and chamomile to retain elasticity and soften fine lines (also doubles as an eye-mask). An instant glow!

— The latest Jil Sander collection celebrates individuality and the multifaceted complexities of human beings. Creative director’s Luke and Lucie Meier explain, “For us it’s really important…the person in its humanity and uniqueness is at the center of our creativity.”

Brutto is a new London trattoria that serves Florentine-influenced food and £5 Negronis on Sopranos-esq tablecloths. In the evening the blinds close, the lights dim and the music turns up. Brutto is a restaurant full of life with charcoaled steaks and family size tiramisu.

— Paris-based vintage clothing store Preclothed brings an astute eye to second hand clothing. We adore their edit of Levi’s jeans and vintage Hermès shirts.

— A stainless steel Prada water bottle is a fun reminder to drink your daily dose of H20. Also an excellent gift idea for any Miuccia fan looking to rehydrate in style.

— French glassware purveyors Duralex never disappoint. Their everlasting collection is both affordable and resilient – tableware you can practically bounce off the kitchen floor.  The Beau rivage cup will bring new life to your morning coffee and delight guests after dinner.

— Rotterdam-based graphic designer Marjolein Delhaas creates pared-back planners and notebooks. The range is an experimentation of her desire to organise and create systems that will improve your everyday. The Journal 31 notebooks make for pleasing planning, available in a range of tasteful colours.

— Winter footwear can be challenging to master. It turns out all we needed was Cuban Heels from Our Legacy to ground our look in a little je ne sais quoi. They are surprisingly comfortable and keenly impressed both our trousers and skirts.

Metamorphoses is a gallery of pieces by designers who thoughtfully turn one thing into another. Jonas Lutz’s ‘Curvy Box’ is just one of the special items we would love to live with.

— Home care brand Kinfill is decluttering our cupboards by redefining the act of cleaning. The Netherlands-based company has created beautiful refillable cleaning products. Simply dilute at home into their Italian glass bottles. More on this subject soon!

— We love this Guardian article 100 Easy ways to slightly improve your life without really trying. Some of our favourite tips include, ‘Call an old friend out of the blue’ and ‘Always book an extra day off after a holiday’.

— A cinema trip beckons with the UK release of director Paul Thomas Anderson’s new film Licorice Pizza. Set in the 1970s this off-beat coming of age film stars Alana Haim and Cooper Hoffman (son of Anderson’s onetime muse, Philip Seymour Hoffman).

— These stackable storage containers by Magazin come in a series of colours and formations. On wheels or fixed feet, these shelving systems serve kitchens, bathrooms, living rooms and home offices.
